Woman, 22, kills grandma on way to family funeral: Cops

An Alabama woman is accused of killing her grandmother on their way to a family funeral over the weekend.

"They were going to a funeral and now they have to plan another funeral. I haven’t every seen anything quite like that." "It’s really a tragedy," Brunson said to AL.com.

Ruth Pearl Pierson, 58, was shot to death outside her family’s home in Macon County on Saturday, and police believe her 22-year-old granddaughter, Stephanie Pierson, is responsible.

Brunson said the shooting happened around 11 a.m. Police don’t know what led to the altercation. as the family prepared to leave for the funeral of Ruth Pearl Pierson’s boyfriend’s mother.

Police said the grandmother’s boyfriend witnessed the shooting.
