Palin’s name was swirling around social media in early February for the diplomatic position, and White House press secretary Sean Spicer helped fuel the rumour after he didn’t outright deny the possibility.

That job is going to Kelly Knight Craft, a long-time donor to Republican campaigns, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News Wednesday.

Craft has reportedly accepted the nomination while the necessary paperwork is being processed before an official announcement is made, the source said.

According to Federal Election Commission filings, the Crafts contributed $431,000 to Trump’s campaign, the Republican National Committee and state parties.

Her husband, Joseph Craft III, is the chief executive officer of Alliance Resources Partners LP, a coal company based in Tulsa, Okla.
